Obviously I did all the sides, but I just had to. It fit each one of them. I know some bits are left uncolored, but I donāt have my stylus, so trying to fill in colors with my finger is way too difficult.
@narwhal-virgil I absolutely love your version, itās so cute!!! š (Check out their version here)
hot take: āchivalryā is fine as long as itās adapted to 21st century values. if you are a male, you SHOULD be aware that your female friends face certain issues that you as a male dont. acting on that awareness in a way that keeps your female friends safe, isnāt a bad thing.
like⦠opening doors isnāt rly chivalrous when itās just a thing you ought to do for everyone. but real 21st century chivalry might be, like, standing between your female friend and the guy thatās trying to get her drunk, or offering to walk her home when itās late.
if the āchivalryā inconveniences everyone involved and youāre just doing it for your over-inflated male ego ā ie, āno youāre the girl here, you HAVE to let me hold this door for you and do all these things for you even when you can do it yourself and im just slowing you downā ā then itās just outdated misogyny.
for a quick change of paceāi know weāve all seen a thousand posts about voting, but what i havenāt seen (not yet) is one saying thank you.Ā
thank you for those who made it out in the rain and the cold, who organized and canvassed and took on the onerous task of working with non-voting & conservative friends/family to change their stance if at least just this once. thank you for those who stood in line for hours, who had to travel because your voting place was moved, who had to jump through ridiculous fucking hoops to register, who werenāt inspired but showed up anyway for the disenfranchised and the greater good. thank you as well to everyone who voted early, absentee, and provisional.Ā
I spent the afternoon arranging our books by size and color (and itās so satisfying and looks amazing) and my partner came home and stared in shock at the bookcase and then said āiām a librarian, you canāt do this.ā
him: you split up all the song of ice and fire books
me: yeah i know, theyāre all primary colors, itās perfect
him: [self-destructs]
Youāre a monster
As a former bookstore employee, this hurts my soul. I mean, sure it looks nice, but how do you find anything?
it has occurred me during this process that apparently not everyone thinks about books by what color they are? like, literally when iām looking for a book, i picture it in my mind. i have a veryā¦tactile experience with the books i read and idk! i thought everyone did that lol.
my partner was likeĀ āhow will i find [this book] for instanceā and i repliedĀ āeasy, itās purpleā and he looked at me like i was a witch.
Ok honestly I could remember the color of a book, but I organize mine by seires to non seres than in that is where they fit on the shelves cause all my shelves are different heights
