I was waiting in the lobby at Planned Parenthood and a woman came in. She went up to the counter and said to the woman working, “Hi! I doubt you remember me, but I came in about 3 weeks ago super early on a Friday when it was raining. I was $4 short for my meds and you spotted me and I promised I’d be back. Here I am!” And then she set $4 on the counter. They laughed and chatted for a few seconds then the lady left again.
I know it’s not a world-changing thing, but it still made me really happy. Both that the worker was willing to help out another woman who needed it, and that the woman came back to keep her promise to pay her back.
People can really be okay sometimes.
