Anxiety Coping Skills!

I’m gonna share a few of my various coping skills that have personally helped me or a loved one of mine with anxiety! Feel free to add on if you’d like, and also please use them if you want! i love you !

  • i’ve used my phone as a way to help me kind of distract myself from my thoughts and irrational fears (shift your focus)
  • played with sensory objects
  • be mindful
  • deep breathing
  • what’s the worst/best/realistic
  • journaling
  • yoga
  • meditation
  • affirmations
  • going for a walk
  • music
  • vent to a friend or loved one
  • ask a trusted adult for advice/guidance
  • ask for reassurance
  • draw/color
  • brain dump
  • clean
  • re organize something (binder, closet, bookshelf, etc)
  • call a loved one
  • hot coco!!
  • play with a pet
  • anxiety jar
  • tumblr positivity tag
  • take a bath and meditate in there
  • cry
  • art projects!
  • think of your anxiety as a learning experience and a cool challenge that you can overcome! then reward yourself !!
  • celebrate baby steps
  • forgive yourself
  • know your limits and respect them
  • take breaks
